Thread has two different naming conventions for its thickness: SIZE and TEX. Our four main thread sizes from thinnest to thickest are SIZE 30 (TEX 90), SIZE 20 (TEX 135), SIZE 15 (TEX 210) and SIZE 10 (TEX 270). Depending on the manufacturer, a TEX 90 may be referred to as TEX 92, TEX 135 as 138, and TEX 210 as TEX 207. These are essentially the same thing.
The most common thread sizes used for automotive interiors is TEX 90 for blind stitching and TEX 135 for top stitching.
The most common thread size used in the bobbin when doing automotive upholstery is TEX 90. Relicate sells TEX 90 (92) bobbins in black and white.
